Auditions for the 2021-2022 season were held in August of this year and our company has been diligently rehearsing to bring you some amazing performances this season. Our 40th annual production of The Nutcracker will be performed December 10-12, 2021 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. This spring we look forward to our production of Peter Pan, which will be held on March 18- 20, 2022 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center.
The company is structured in four parts:
*Some considerations to accommodate college or high school graduates are available and should be discussed with the Artistic Director.
An Apprentice or Junior Trainee member must be 10 years old on or by July 31, 2021, and have at least two years of formal ballet training and be dancing at an upper beginner level or intermediate level.
Performing members (Junior and Senior members) must be at least 13 years old on or by July 31, 2021. Pointe work should be suitable for intermediate and above level (usually, but not limited to, four or more years).
There is a $25 non-refundable audition fee due at the time of the audition.
We are asking that everyone attending auditions in person must register online by filling out the audition form on www.balletartsjackson.org.
We will follow all CDC guidelines. As stated by the CDC. . . “Any individual vaccinated can resume activities without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.”
*All guidelines are subject to change as the CDC frequently updates their policies. We will follow any changes suggested by the CDC.
As of August 1, 2021 Yearly fees for ALL company members are $350 per year. It can be paid all at once or in two payments. Balances must be paid in full by the first rehearsal. It is the desire of the Board of Directors that no dancer is excluded from participation in the company due to financial constraints. Our Member Care Committee will be happy to hear about any problems you may have with the fee schedule. Fees are subject to change.
As with any non-profit organization, volunteer work is vastly important to the smooth running of the organization. This is especially true for Ballet Arts, Inc. because we are a volunteer staffed organization. There is a place for each and every one of you and you are needed! There have been years our Parents and Friends of Ballet Arts logged in over 8,000 hours of volunteer time. That is impressive for such a small organization and our parents are to be commended! Shannon Hoppers, our Friends and Family coordinator, will be available to answer questions you have regarding the many committees.
It is imperative that you register your child prior to auditions! This lets us know how many students will be attending, and how many time slots we will need to offer for check-in. Once you have registered you will be contacted with a specific time for your child’s audition. Our auditions will range from 8AM to 12:30PM.
Those who do not register by the due date will not be admitted into auditions, and therefore will be disqualified from our current season.
The following forms/items are due by 1st company meeting on August 21, 2020:
** A copy of a physical completed within the last year is needed for all dancers**
Forms are available on the Ballet Arts website. Please download them and have them filled out prior to auditions and dates indicated.
I am looking forward to seeing you in August and working with you through our next exciting season with Ballet Arts! In the meantime, if you have any questions, you may contact Ballet Arts via email: email@example.com
